Resurgence is the guiding theme, the philosophical view for the 2022 submissions for textile, jewelry and decor categories.

Resurgence, rising again into life. Let your mind and hands explore ideas around recovery of mind and spirit where there is rebirth within and all around, re-emergence of hope and belief.  The covid-19 pandemic has brought an exponential change in the lives of everyone. These times have been personally, professionally, financially and mentally testing for specially those whose livelihoods, family and rights were in threat.

Craftsmanship and ancient legacies have too faced the brunt of the catastrophe. However, is it the first time artisan communities have been tormented by such a crisis? In the history of craft, artisans have survived and sometimes thrived the ebb and flow of their surroundings by adopting inventive, innovative and resolute measures. For the second edition of the awards in 2022, we encourage applicants to think of the theme to think deeper about their hand crafted legacies, to find stories of rebirth,
innovations for adaptation and practices of hope in the face of adversity.

Let your craft explore ideas around recovery from setbacks; materialising the journey of empowerment, and celebrating the re-emergence of light. We welcome you to either explore multiple techniques or let your core practice bloom. Through a central message  of renaissance, imagine the narratives that could be highlighted from the past, present or future helping us rethink about our ways of caring. When you submit your application, please explain how this theme reflects in your work
