Pitchuka Srinivas from India is an eminent artisan working on the world-known Kalamkari, a block-printing technique using natural colorants. He works on fabric with colors that are natural, all coming from roots, barks, leaves and flowers. His father, Pitchuka Veera Subbaiah was responsible for reviving the traditional art of block printing at Pedana, Andhra Pradesh, India, which became an important livelihood for men and women.
