The art of creating decor pieces brings so much life, warmth and beauty into lifeless spaces, turning otherwise insignificant matter into something so intricate and ravishing. Every cut, bend and carving involves utmost diligence, patience and skillfulness. Maryene Dominion
Maryene Dominion from Nigeria lives and works in Otukpo, Benue state. She is a graduate of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, 2014 with a B.F.A & majored in sculpture. She is currently an art teacher at Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo. Studying sculpture enhanced her creative skills, hand and eye coordination as well as complex analysis and critical thinking. Through her practice as an artist, she uses wood and mixed media works to empower and uplift indigenous people.
